Terms & Conditions
1. About us
These terms govern your use of the Sell Rolex watch buying service, operated by Knightsbridge Watches trading as Sell Rolex ("we", "us", "our"), 88 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW3 1ER. By submitting a valuation request or entering into a transaction with us, you agree to these terms.
References to "you" and "your" mean the individual or entity selling a watch to us.
2. Valuations and indicative offers
Any valuation, price range, or indicative offer provided before we have physically inspected the watch is an estimate only. It is not a binding offer to purchase.
Indicative valuations are based on information you provide (reference number, condition, presence of box and papers) and current grey-market pricing at the time of enquiry. Final offers may differ from indicative ranges if the watch's condition, authenticity, or completeness varies from your description.
We reserve the right to decline to make an offer on any watch at any time without providing a reason.
3. Firm offers and acceptance
A firm offer is made after we have physically inspected the watch — either in person at our showroom or, in the case of postal sales, upon confirmed receipt.
A firm offer remains open for acceptance on the day it is made. If you do not accept the offer on that day, we reserve the right to revise it to reflect any change in market conditions.
Acceptance of an offer is final. Once accepted verbally or in writing, the transaction is complete and cannot be unwound except by mutual agreement.
We do not offer a cooling-off period or right of withdrawal on watch purchase transactions, as these are commercial purchase agreements rather than distance selling contracts under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
4. Payment
We pay by bank transfer (BACS or Faster Payments) only. We do not pay in cash.
For showroom transactions, payment is initiated on the day of the agreed sale, upon handover of the watch. Transfer times depend on your bank but are typically same-day for Faster Payments.
For postal transactions, payment is initiated on the day we receive and verify the watch. You will be notified by telephone or email when this occurs.
You are responsible for providing accurate bank account details. We accept no liability for misdirected payments resulting from incorrect details provided by you.
5. Authenticity and title
By selling a watch to us, you warrant that:
- You are the legal owner of the watch or are authorised to sell it on behalf of the owner
- The watch is not subject to any outstanding finance agreement, lien, or encumbrance
- The watch has not been reported stolen and does not appear on any lost or stolen register
- All information you have provided about the watch is accurate to the best of your knowledge
We verify every watch against the Watch Register and other relevant databases before completing a purchase. If a watch is found to be stolen, counterfeit, or subject to a finance agreement, we will not proceed with the purchase and may be required to report the matter to the relevant authorities.
If a watch purchased by us is subsequently found to be stolen, counterfeit, or subject to an undisclosed finance agreement, you agree to indemnify us for any losses we incur, including the purchase price paid, any legal costs, and any claims made against us by third parties.
6. Postal and courier sales
If you choose to sell your watch by post or courier, the following applies:
- We will agree an indicative offer with you by telephone or email before the watch is sent
- You must use a fully insured, tracked, and signed-for service (Royal Mail Special Delivery or equivalent) and insure the package for its full value
- Risk in the watch remains with you until we confirm receipt in writing
- If we are unable to match the indicative offer after inspection, we will contact you with a revised offer. You may request the watch be returned to you at our cost if you do not accept the revised offer
- We will arrange return postage using a fully insured service if the transaction does not proceed
7. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with any transaction or use of this website is limited to the amount (if any) paid to you in connection with that transaction.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of profit or loss of opportunity.
This website is provided for information purposes. While we take reasonable care to ensure accuracy, we make no warranty that prices, ranges, or other information on this website are current, complete, or free from error.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these terms or a transaction with us shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The version in force at the time of your transaction applies.
